But, as a result of Covid, the video game developer was made to postpone 2020's convention and instead celebrate its 30th year with a digital conference last weekend.

Given this substantial anniversary, it makes sense that lots of the statements were aimed at nostalgic lovers. Three of Blizzard's older names (Lost Vikings, Rock Roll Racing and Blackthorne) have been bundled together in the Blizzard Arcade Collection. World of Warcraft Classic, which takes players back to the venerable MMO's earliest days, will find a diversion of its first growth, Burning Crusade. And 2000's beloved dungeon crawler Diablo II will probably be getting an HD remaster, releasing this year on to consoles, PC and Nintendo Switch as Diablo II Resurrected.

The hack-and-slash role-playing game proved to be a significant hit on release in 2000. However, in addition, it discovered a community that gave the game unbelievable longevity, permitted by years of continuing stains and assistance from Blizzard. "There's a great deal of love in our heart for Diablo II," Blizzard president Allen Brack told the Guardian. "[Resurrected] is mainly for men and women that have played Diablo II and also have [that same] deep love for this."

Senior vice president and product development direct Allen Adham said Resurrected will be an opportunity for players to get back to the basics and see how they consume more than 20 years after. "Diablo is characterised by amazing, easy, visceral moment-to-moment combat, and in the present large, bombastic games with beautiful art and sound and tech, sometimes that may be lost to time. But then you go back and you play something as straightforward as Diablo II and you realise how gratifying that is."

Though it might be targeted at those people who are already fans, it is 21 years since the match's first release. (The company was originally discussing a remaster for the game's 20th anniversary, however, decided it would not be prepared in time.) "There is going to be an entire generation of people who have never played it.
